Coolist Christmas music ever....Check out TSO
The holidays are almost here and many of us remember the traditional Christmas recordings our parents would play around this time of year.
About 5 years ago I bought tickets to a little known band called "Trans Syberian Orchestra". At that time they rarely played anywhere but one concert in a big city like Grand Rapids or Detroit There recordings show up around Christmas time at check out lane at Target and Meijer with the Christmas music selections like Manheim Steemroller etc.... With the passing of time they have become quite popular with there spin on classical and traditional Christmas music. Like the rock opera the "Who" did with "Tommy", there versions of these songs done with screaming guitars and howling synthisizers are really pretty cool. You aint' seen nothing till you go to one of there concerts! Snow falling from the cieling, fog coming off the stage and a huge light show coupled with the best renditions of "Your mom and dads" traditional music with a modern day rock flare. They will be in Lansing at the Breslin Student Event Center on the campus of MSU on Friday Nov.30 I will be attending the 2nd concert in Grand Rapids on Saturday December 1st at Van Andel Arena. We usually make a night out of it and stay over night and eat a nice dinner out at the BOB (Big Old Building) in G.R. I highly recommend that you at least buy one of there albums or plan to go to one of there concerts this holiday season. You won't be disappointed. |
