little girls
as a mother of a 10 yr old little girl I find that no matter how old we women get there will always be a lil girl still inside us all, and no matter how much time passes, trends will always come back either to haunt us or to cause a trip down memory lane, no matter how much our waist lines have changed and the ever so increasing wrinkles appear.
Even tho girls of today are more aware of things at a younger age, such as sex, I find that there are more and more parents out there who go out and find the best "parenting book" and use crazy tactics to mold their children, or blame it all on an illness, such as ADHD, or some emotional disorder, when the real problem is with us. By just taking the time to sit down and be frank with our children and let em know whats up, not by screaming it at them or grounding them after the fact, but by really having some quiet time alone with them, whether it be right before bed time or in the morning while getting ready for the day, take time with your kids, and dont worry that they wont be able to understand it all...they are human and suprising enough smarter than they appear to be...they observe everything around them and catch on very quickly, and if not fully explained because we think its too complicated, repercussion of it all is only our fault and no one elses, because we didnt take the time to explain. For example- the new shot to prevent HPV for youngsters and the controversey that it will make an excuse for young girls to be promiscuios...if we as parents took the time to explain it for real and what surrounds the reasoning in real life terms, there would actually be no reason to question promiscuity at all... we all did it at that age and our parents couldnt stop us...who is so poweful that they think they can cuase their lil girl from it? make em be a hermit and keep them inside? whatever...its better to explain it and let them understand and if so, experience it. rather than shield them from it. they say the better way to cure a cold is to prevent it of course, but if you get a cold to try and endure thru it so your body can grow immunities instead of all kinds of medicines for a quick fix...same kinda goes with life dont ya think? lifes experiences makes us who we are...would you want your child to miss anyone them so that a lesson is lost to life?
so now that i have rambles on about absolutely pointless stuff, i will end my posting by saying
C YA!
