This was a great movie. Michael Moore compares our society to France, England, Canada and Cuba. The movie starts by focusing on the health industry in America and all of the major players.
It then goes to Canada and Europe and shows the "many" benefits that those people receive that we can only dream of. You are not going to believe how good they have it in France. The movie also shows how the doctors are treated in those countries. Towards the end of the movie Moore points out that many of the other societies in the world think more of "we" than of "me." The movie doesn't harp on Bush too much, which was a surprise. Last edited by todd : 06-18-2007 at 10:03 AM. |

sicko!
WOW ! I knew we sucked when it came to health care ..... but after watching SICKO I think that we are down right pathetic!
When they compare the British and French Health care.....with our "lovely" system... its simply jaw dropping! Italy is the same way... Medical care comes out of your taxes.... like say, its in your state taxes.. then when you need care, they just tend to your needs! and the thing is... the tax is so small like say $75 you dont really care about it! One of the things that upset me the most was when they were talking about denying insurance coverage because or "experimental" medicine practice or insurance companies "buying out" doctors to state that the assistance is not necessary ....... and if you watched this Documentary you know that those people REALLY needed all the help they can get! I think Mikey is starting to gain my respect again! OK MICHIGANDERS!!! LETS ALL MOVE TO CANADA EH? ![]() |

I think it is strange that American businesses do not force the government to take on the health care issue. Well...actually...I don't think it is too strange because businesses know that health care (or the lack of it) is a good way to keep their employees motivated to work.
Employers use health care to attract workers but they also use it to keep workers. If you lived in a society where the health care was free and universal then money and quality of life would be your only concerns. Other countries pay many of the citizen's education expenses as well as their health care. Our system keeps you tied down (mentally) by keeping you indebted to it. Debt eats into your quality of life fear eats into your ability to live the life of your choosing. The goal then, is to break through the mental fear placed on you by society and live the life YOU choose. That may sound easy to say and difficult to do but I say that it is easier than you think. Believe in the "Law of Attraction." The indicators that the law is valid are the inputs that are being made available to you by the people in power...(the one's who control the wealth). Consider the input into your daily psyche.
Listen to the quiet and calming, rational voice inside you. Remember after 9/11 how we (securitas guards) were always being called on anthrax scares? What happened when things calmed down? People were rational...BE RATIONAL in the face of fear. I just saw the movie "300." Three hundred SPARTANS (Ahem) stood up against a horde of Persians (like the sissies at the UofM). Even though the Spartans died at the end they stood their ground and died like men...They would not bow down to fear. Last edited by todd : 03-13-2008 at 12:34 AM. |
