Corned Beef Sandwiches
Author: michelemybell55
Time:

Difficulty:
Easy! Everything I make is easy!
Serving Size:
Lots
Description
Juicy corned beef on toasted seeded rye, with coleslaw.
Ingredients
  • 1 corned beef brisket, with seasoning packet
  • 1 can of beer
  • 3 T black pepper
  • 1 bulb of garlic, peeled
  • seeded rye bread
  • coleslaw
  • pickles
  • tomatoes
  • swiss cheese
Preparation
  1. In a large pot, pour the beer over the corned beef, and then add enough water so that the brisket is submerged.
  2. Add garlic, seasoning packet and pepper to the pot and boil for at least 4 hours, but the longer, the better.
Instructions
  1. There are two ways you can do this: The Hard Way or The Easy Way. The Hard Way tastes better, of course. Heat a frying pan with about 1ish teaspoon of olive oil. Place a slice of swiss cheese one slice of bread. Top with shredded corned beef, coleslaw, tomato and pickle. Place another slice of cheese on top, then the other slice of bread. Fry on both sides until toasted to your liking.
  2. The Easy Way is not as good. You can brush one side of each slice of bread with olive oil and then put it under the broiler, olive oil up, for a bit, to get the bread toasted. Make the sandwich, then microwave it to melt the cheese.

I forgot to mention that you're gonna need about a teaspoon of olive oil for each side of the sandwich. Also, if you don't let the oil get hot before you put the sandwich in, the bread is just gonna absorb the oil and possibly become soggy.
