My View
THE AUTO INDUSTRY HAS BEEN GOOD FOR ALL OF US. UNFORTUNATLY IN THE 80'S WHEN THINGS WERE PROSPEROUS.
THE UNIONS NEGOCIATED FAT BENEFIT PACKAGES FOR THE WORKERS. AFTER THE GLOBAL TRADE ISSUE HIT, G.M. CAN NO LONGER PAY FOR UNCLE BOBS 3RD COUSINS HEALTH BENEFITS. SO NOW THERE TRYING TO BACK PEDAL TO KEEP UP WITH THE WORKERS IN CHINA WHO GET "NOTHING". No wonder a car costs as much as a house! people lease (rent) instead of buy. and a loan is now 5 years in length instead of 4 to make the payments affordable. I don't blame the workers fro trying to leverage something, but some caution should be taken or all of the cars might have Chinese names! |
